While the EEOC may have a valid argument for Americans with learning disabilities and the barriers they face when trying to obtain a job, this provision may also give students the push to graduate high school. “This is a double-edged sword,” says California employment attorney Eric Grover, “instead of nixing the diploma requirement, people with learning disabilities should state on their applications and/or resumes with the medical reason for why they do not have a diploma.”
